06-05-2008 Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK:
Saw about 14 UFOs; main object was
a silent orange, glowing ball, (which watched us all night for 7
hours), moved in strange ways then disappeared, other was a vertical
cigar-shaped object, from which several black things emerged; also saw
a
boomerang and a triangular formation.

"06/05/08 12:00AM; me and my two friends were hanging out in the fields behind where we lived in Whitburn (have since moved) when we thought the police helicopter was flying over, as they often did; so we panicked and started hiding, but I realised there was no noise; then I noticed the orange/yellow glow had stopped not far from us: We were at the edge of the field, while the unidentified light was in the middle.
Fast forward the account, and this object silently hovered there for hours!
I was taught that UFOs weren't real and I'd just left school, so never thought about going closer to inspect the light, anyway, I think I would have been too scared.
I did want to run home to grab the video camera, but I thought it would be a waste of time and that when I got back the light would've gone.... but boy, was I wrong and I massively regret not going back to get the camera still to this day. Anyway, so we carried on just hanging out and trying to understand what this light was; because it sure wasn't a plane or helicopter... and living underneath the flightpath of both, I should know!!
Then later on in the night with the sky turning from black to dark blue, we noticed another UFO in the sky to our right! This one was a vertical cigar shape, which we saw decending and in complete silence; then suddenly it stopped and two black things came out the bottom, kind of on a slant, like landing legs, except it was way up in the sky, then they went back inside and the black cigar started moving up, then it stopped, then went up, then it stopped again... then I looked away for a minute and when I looked back again it was gone!
So, I swore I wouldn't miss this main one which was still hovering there, not far away in front of us.
Then again to our left, really high up, we saw a boomerang-shaped UFO; it looked like it came in through the atmosphere... then behind that two boomerangs... then behind them three, then four, then five; but these forms were only visible for seconds; they appeared to come into our atmosphere then straight back out.
Then we went back to studying this this orange, glowing light again; because by now it was getting light; but the sun hadn't rose (Whitburn is a coastal village btw) and the sky's were clear blue and not a cloud in sight; then, quite unexpectedly, this orange ball slowly started to ascend; then it went back, stopped, then went back up, back down again, stopped, then it got to about 100ft above the field and then suddenly, this huge random cloud floated in front of the lightform and slowly went past it... and after it had passed we were astonished to see that the UFO had vanished! It didn't fly up, over, sideways or under the cloud, it just vanished. Then the cloud broke up and no other clouds were about.
The next night at my home, I was searching the night sky hoping to see it again, when instead I spotted something else. I thought it was a star at first, but then the object started zig-zagging all over the sky; next, the most amazing thing happened; I watched it travel to what looked like another star and speed around it, at which point this 'star' started getting really bright before it dimmed and disappeared; then the other 'star' shot away and disappeared. Then I've seen other star-like UFOs zipping all over the sky as well.
My two friends were in denial and frightened to speak or think of what we witnessed, but ever since then I have genned up on the UFO subject and will teach my son the truth.
Of course no one believed me back then except my Dad, who said he also seen UFOs while growing up in Whitburn; and my Aunty was actually chased by one on the High Road, which is a long, dark Road leading out of Whitburn.
Whitburn has beach and oceans at the front and farms and fields at at back, and not much Streetlight pollution, then main towns and cities either side. It's a unique beautiful place in Tyneside. My family still live there.
Unfortunately I haven't seen any more UFOs in the years since... well, except the ones that came to my flat a few years ago, but I don't think I should go into detail with that. Oh and we did try and record that night on my friends phone, but cameraphones had only just come out and their quality wasn't very good then... plus the phone wouldn't work properly until the main UFO had gone.
