Report 1974: UFO Shone Lightbeam Down Over Lyme Park, Disley, Near Stockport, UK

The time was about 5-ish; myself, my brother and Uncle were going to the 
park because it was covered in snow and we were going sledging: There 
were two sledge runs, and we were on the smaller one, it had gone 
dark and there were about 25-30 other people there.

There was a very light breeze and I could hear the dried leaves rustle
on an oak nearby; anyhow, a massive light beamed down, just straight 
down, no noise.

Everyone just stood and stared upward, the light went out and reappeared 
about 30 yards away, then it went out after about 15 seconds-ish.

I stared at it intensely to see anything further, I can only remember seeing 
a black edge against the dark blue sky moving slowly away.

My Uncle simply said "'lets go" and we went, we walked back to High Lane 
a few miles away.

To this day I have not been able to make any sense of it despite my having 
researched the subject.

I revisited the very spot last year to show my family, and even went to the 
library in Manchester to see if anything was in the newspapers for that 
year, but with ' little 'success. 

Others saw what we saw, it would be cool to contact just one of those who 
was there that evening.
