Haunting/Alien/Visitation
Case
[Please scroll down this page completely for much more info!]
The original Angel Lane was demolished around 1970. About the only local landmarks from before 1970 which survive are Stratford Station, (now much changed) and the Theatre Royal.
During
the 1960’s and 1970’s the ‘planners’ simply wanted to erase all the old
areas and bundle the people elsewhere as if they were cattle to be
shifted. In the process often breaking up neighbours and dumping them
in unfamiliar places. The new homes may have had advantages like indoor
loos and even bathrooms, but the disruption to communities was a real
problem that the planners in their distant offices ignored.
Yet,
despite its radically reshaped landscape and cleansing of residents,
Angel Lane quietly took on a new character - of the paranormal kind...
when a series of extremely enigmatic happenings took place there
in 2010!
But we begin with Stratford, London; now this is another name to conjure with - as it boasts some interesting folk history... and here is a very good early example.
Something strange was seen flying over the Thames one morning in May, 1547. It was a UFO in the sense that, at first, no one recognized the object; but once 'it' landed at Stratford, everyone knew what 'it' was and just what to do with 'it.' The mysterious flying 'thing' turned out to be a man. He was captured by the good people of east London and put in the stocks.
This sighting was recorded by William Fulke, long before people were concerned with little grey aliens. He was told that the devil had been seen flying over the Thames.
Up to 16 years afterwards Londoners claimed to have seen him flying and some still wished they had had guns or arrows to shoot 'Old Nick' out of the sky. Perhaps someone did hit the blighter or maybe the devil really does like Stratford. Either way, on landing, despite Satan having taken the trouble to disguise himself as a man he was spotted due to his alien cloven feet.
In
fact, this area has now almost become synonymous with alien/UFO
sightings, as a number of different observations have been reported
from
the locale. Of course, the legitimacy of early historical claims will always
be called into question due to the lack of 'physical proof'; but more
recent evidences, (especially where photo captures are involved) might
be strong enough to cause some people to question their ambivalence
towards such matters; and I think that this particular high-strangeness
capture from 2009, certainly adds to the weight of gathered data for
Stratford and its neighbours.
Cropped
enlargement of a flying saucer-like object:
This was captured by webcam in 2009, as the UFO
hovered high near the Stratford City development
of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park... a sporting
complex specifically built for the 2012 Summer
Olympics and the Paralympics.
First featured on the official BBC
London webpage,
the gallery above is a selection of webcam frames showing an
unidentified aerial object inadvertently captured on the morning of 10
May 2009 timed at 09.55, at the Olympic Stadium construction site.
Now to our 2010 case: It is unlikely that you would have seen or heard about any of this before, as it hasn't, (to our knowledge), been elsewhere on the Net, the TV, or in the papers previously; instead, this information has sat in our archives for a couple of years; only recently, (2014/15), has the case been dusted-off and given a proper airing - and there are good reasons why this is so.
From 03/10/2010, strange happenings started to occur in a Stratford residence... a property that is located right next to where the London Olympics complex was going to be built.
Just as the ground began to be prepared for the stadium, a number of truly bizarre apparitions were recorded on CCTV, a security system which the elderly owners of this house recently had installed for them at the time to keep an eye on their out-buildings following a spate of burglaries in the area; and it was then that the distressed occupants came to BEAMS for help.
Strange figures and faces, some alien-looking, others ghostly - and what looks like an angel, (or maybe it's a demon), unaccountable lights and mists, were all captured by their video surveillance equipment.
To begin with, we kept in regular contact by email, and the witnesses kindly took photographs from the screen of their computer monitor and sent them to BEAMS.
It must be understood that due to their age, these people had very limited know-how of anything to do with technical matters, and screen shots, (using a handheld camera), were all they could manage for the meantime. I tried asking, but the owners definitely would not part with the recorder's original VCR tapes: So naturally, I planned to visit the house in person, and take a good look around, examine their video footage - and hopefully make a duplicate if I could.
This is a segment of original raw footage of the captured Alien or Demon image, which can be seen at about 0:14, where the figure suddenly pops up, (into our reality?) for a split second. Please bear in mind that these extremely rare pictures were photographed from a basic monitor screen, so the definition and colour quality is quite poor.
The exact provenance of the title
Angel Lane is unclear, but here are the main contenders: it might have
some connection with the 16th century Angel Inn, Islington, whose trade
sign actually bore the Angel of the Annunciation.
Annunciation.
Annunciation, also called Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary or
Annunciation of the Lord, in Christianity, the announcement by the
angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive a son by the
power of the Holy Spirit to be called Jesus (Luke 1:26–38).
Either that, or Stratford Langthorne Abbey or the Abbey of St Mary's, Stratford Langthorne, a Cistercian monastery founded in 1135 has been rumored as being behind the commemoration. Even the land once belonging to Clerkenwell Priory, (approx 7 miles from Stratford), in the 1700s may have played a part in its naming.
Attempting
to get to the bottom of this hasn't been easy - because no one seems to
know for certain; but my money's on the 'Annunciation'... and I
wouldn't mind betting that there's much more to this story than is on
record.
Then there is a Knights Templar connection also. Why do I suddenly introduce the Templars' into this mystery? because in early times, an important Templar building is known to have stood just a relatively short distance away from the Angel Lane site, at Temple Mills Lane, which is to the north of London's 2012 Olympic Park.
Although the 'Mills' may not necessarily have been of tremendous significance as far as the history books are concerned, the very fact that this building belonged to the highly secretive Order of The Knights Templar should not be dismissed lightly. In addition, there is a strong suggestion that a sacred well once existed in or close to Angel Lane; these facts should be considered from a Ley Line/Earth Energy/Occult/Mystical perspective.
This next point is worth considering also: Stratford
is not far from Walbrook, where in 1954 a Roman Mithraeum, (an
underground Temple dedicated to the 'Mithras' mystery cult) was
discovered during a building's construction.
What we do know about the Mithras cult is that it is based on ancient
Iranian worship, whose followers believe in the supernatural creation
of JINN or spirit beings.
According
to legend, there are many types of Jinn, (including Angels and Demons)
and of particular interest to our study is the the IFRIT type of Jinn,
also spelled as efreet, efrite, ifreet, afreet, afrite and afrit.
These
are said to be enormous winged creatures composed of a 'smokekess
fire', either male or female, who live underground and frequents ruin
to protect them from destruction.
Intriguingly,
I learned that there is even a 'lost', (long built over) River
Walbrook; the Romans constructed their Temple of Mithras on the east
bank of the Walbrook in the middle
of the 3rd century AD.
It is formed
from two tributaries, (one coming from Shoreditch and one from the
Barbican) merging in the Finsbury Circus area of Central London, then flowing
through the middle of the City of London underneath what is now the
Bank of England.
Significantly,
before reaching the Temple of Mithras along the pilgrim trail, the
Walbrook River takes in a building called Angel Court, and a line of
old church sites.
Please see the images below these words for some additional screenshots from CCTV footage captured by our witnesses, this time showing what appear to be Blue-Grey aliens! and as a comparison, I have also included a shot of a Templar carving found near Rosslyn Chapel, a 15th-century church located at the village of Rosslyn, Midlothian, Scotland.

case
The
entire reason why the CCTV had been installed at the premises in the
first place was because of an earlier burglary they had suffered; this
attempted break-in had happened at the rear of the elderly witnesses
home - and now they had a series of cameras in operation, several of
which concentrated on the garden area and out-buildings.
Sadly, owing to extreme personal circumstances at that time, I couldn't keep an appointment that I had made to meet these witnesses; instead, I foolishly enlisted someone else to go on behalf of BEAMS: I considered this person trustworthy, particularly as in recent years he had become the new editor for FSR -The Flying Saucer Review magazine; but things didn't turn out the way I had expected; instead this guy, (I won't mention his name here), came back looking very sheepish. He informed me that the witnesses had suddenly withdrawn completely and wanted nothing more to do with the investigation; needless to say that, as time went on, neither the video cassettes or the witnesses were ever heard of again, despite my repeated attempts to find out more and re-establish communications with the people involved.
Where did the original footage go? you're guess is as good as mine... I think we all might suspect what the answer is; and the witnesses? why did they suddenly shy away? again, I will leave the reader to ponder over that.
I
wouldn't even rule out the possibility that some unseen hand or force
may be responsible for dropping a proverbial 'spanner' into the works.
The
chances are high that these 'light beings' and other phenomena
have shown themselves there for centuries - and that's how 'Angel' and
'Angel Lane' got their titles.
Other
screen images from this case are to be found below; these feature
various indistinct shapes, including what could be a humanoid and one
of an embryo?

Some noteworthy feedback since publication:
'I think it's fair to say that whatever was captured, it looks like a plasmic being of some type -- its anomalous shapes make it impossible to center on any one favoured explanation -- but I think it does look rather jinn like -- or maybe an elemental rather than a human 'shade' -- it seems highly energised with a blue glow and that inclines me to put this into the Jinni bracket -- my mentor goes to indonesia a lot and he as shown me pics that are of jinn randomly captured and they are in the non-human form -- when jinn fully materialise they have a definite form which is somewhat alarming,-- so these could be terrestrial jinn, elementals -- or simply energy bursts of some kind with shapes being read into them that have no real basis. jinn also show as globes of light either green or blue -- so the jury is out but a very interesting collection of images.'
