Grey Saucer With Rotating Red Light Seen Over Preston Lancs, UK


Witness statement: Hello: My name is ******** ********, I'm 51 years old, I live near Preston and I have a very responsible job in the transport industry.

Last night at approx 20:05  I was walking back to my house after visiting a friend; it was a clear night and I was able to see the stars and some flashing aircraft strobe lights in the distance.

Suddenly, an object caught my eye that appeared over the rooftops from the North.

It was a dull gray disk shape, about the size of a 1p coin, and about two to three thousand feet in altitude; the object was moving very rapidly from the north to the south and it had a single red light that was rotating slowly around the out side of the disc.

There were no noise's or aircraft sounds... it was running silent.

I watched the object for about 10 seconds until it went out of view over towards Leyland, Lancashire.

I have never seen anything like this before and hope I wasn't the only witness: I would be interested if there are any other reports on this sighting.  

I didn't have any means of recording making a video or photograph.

Another witness has just contacted BEAMS revealing how the same sort of object was observed in Canada:

I saw something fitting the same description.
I don't really feel like submitting a whole report, but pretty much everything was the same except mine moved south to north, and theirs was north to south, and I was in Canada, seeing this at around 11:20 PM.
