Witness statement: "My family was living
in Stratford London, 1.1 miles from where the 2012 Olympic Stadium is;
It was 10 to six in the evening on a lovely clear day in the third week
of October 1952; I was sitting outside of the house waiting for my
evening meal to be served at 6pm and I was talking to my Aunt and Uncle
who were in their garden of the house next door.
Suddenly we noticed a “star” (as we
thought it might be in those days - what else could it have been?),
which was travelling from south to the north; it then turned 90 degrees
to its right and travelled for a short period before it turned again,
this time to its left.
I timed it then... it was 5
seconds.
It was now back on its original course
but further over; it turned yet again left again for another 5
seconds.
At this point it had travelled three
sides of a square.
It then turned to its right and onto its
original course, but further on.
We saw it do five or six of these maneuvers
before it disappeared over the rooftops.
THE MOST INCREDIBLE THING however was
every time that it made a 90 degree turn, it came out of the corner the
same speed as it went into it! there was NO STOPPING to turn, there was
NO SLOWING DOWN to turn AND there were NO ROUNDED CORNERS... as a
vehicle
on Earth would do whilst changing direction at speed.
Witnessed and written by Bryan Pavitt.
2nd June 2016."
