Calm, still evening: Travelling east on deserted part of road, 
not near any dwellings, suddenly saw a bright, green light, completely 
globular, descending quite fast absolutely vertically, becoming slightly 
orange as it disappeared behind trees into a field. 

No other lights seen as I passed the place where I saw it come down. 

I saw nothing in my mirror as I drove away. 

I cannot explain this at all and I am not a fanciful person!
