As we were driving up the A1 between Knaresborough and Borouhbridge 
we saw an object hovering in the sky. 

My husband said is that a plane going to Newcastle; initially it looked 
like the outline a Chinook helicopter, dark against the sky. 

As we left the A1 to go to Ripon we kept looking as the object didn't seem 
to be moving. 

We spotted it again to our right then my husband said "look" and there 
was a craft distinctly visible against the cloud immediately in front of us. 

This looked silver blending into the cloud. 

It was so unusual that we stopped the car to look clearly at the object. 

It was stationary against the cloud oblong in shape and I think I saw a 
clear top-like a cap on a saucer. 

We then resumed our journey having confirmed we had seen something 
unusual. 

Not a plane not a drone (totally no noise) we lost sight of it between the 
trees and then it simply want anywhere to be seen. 

Really frustrated I had left my phone at home so sorry no pictures. 

Just thought it might corroborate any other reports.
