09-06-16 Triangular Light Formation Seen Over York, UK

  I was walking my dog over near Nestle factory; it was humid a day with thick 
  cloud cover, when a bright flash suddenly caught my eye.  

  I first thought that this was simply a low, small plane, but there was no 
  sound.  

  As I watched, I saw a light formation which became triangular - not edges 
  but across; then suddenly it was like someone had turned these lights off, 
  and it was gone! 

  From the first light appearing until it vanished, the whole experience lasted 
  under 20 seconds.  

  I had no thought of my camera phone at the time as I was in awe at what the 
  formation was going to become, but then it just disappeared.  
 
  Afterwards, I did take the phone out, but sadly, there was to be no repeat 
  performance.

  Due to the thick cloud, all I could see was the lights: They were bright but 
  not white; it was like the afterglow on an engine.  

  I was gobsmacked - and my dog sat next to me watching how surprised I 
  must have looked.

  Never seen anything like that before.
