Over Hampshire

Leaving my work in Hampshire, I saw what I initially thought were plane 
lights in the sky through the clouds; but they were not moving and were 
bright green and flashing every couple of seconds. 

Then I assumed they were strobe lights, but I could not see where they 
were coming from across the horizon, only in the sky through the clouds. 

I went home and could still see them, they stopped abruptly at around 
2:37am. 

Unfortunately my phone isn't strong enough to catch photos, my 
bedroom window is south west facing, more to the west and that is where 
I saw the lights. About three of them in the sky. End of message:

Judging by the witness description, it is unlikely that these stationary 
green, flashing lights were anything to do with the Perseid meteor shower, 
which could be seen in some parts of Britain on this date.
