I've seen a few unexplained things in the sky locally but none has spooked me like this time.
I was driving back home from a friends tonight when I noticed a pair of white lights in the sky; at first I thought them to be military aircraft flying one behind the other, given the area is mostly MOD land; I did see a flashing red light that I presumed to be on the tail of one.
They stayed in view, broken by trees along the roadside, until I joined a larger road coming off a roundabout, at which point I noticed one was now flying to my left and the other had travelled into the distance.
The one on the left seemed to now have blue and red lights on it but also a bright glow coming from underneath, like a spotlight shining through dense fog, except the sky is clear!
I started to get intrigued and at the next roundabout decided to take the turning before mine which meant I was travelling towards the lights.
While travelling along this road, the light that had been off in the distance was now to my right, and I momentarily lost site of the first one, until it passed directly over me, making no sounds at all.
I got a good look at it but no pics, as I was driving alone, and all I can say is that it looked just like a spaceship from the Halo games!
It seemed to have a very short wingspan for the length of the main body, and the glow I'd seen seemed to come from a large round light on the underside.
I don't know why, (and it sounds pathetic now), but it sent a weird chill down my spine.
I turned around at the next point, half a mile up the road and both lights/aircraft were circling in the sky, directly above a local lake near Warminster.
The lake is less than a mile from the road I was on but is surrounded by forest land so I didn't pursue any more.
As I drove back along the same road, I kept a eye on them but they stayed there circling, almost like they were searching for something.
I'm not a fanatic, I don't chase UFOs but I don't truly know what I saw tonight; they were both definitely aircraft yet none that I have ever seen before - without them being fictional.
I'd readily except that these were something military, except for the fact that they weren't flying over military grounds - and it certainly didn't look like army aircraft to me.
I can't have been the only person to witness this as I passed many others vehicles on the journey: I only hope someone else got video footage or pictures!
Sincerely
*** Warminster, Wiltshire.
