Couple of miles south of little Stoke Bristol UK, going towards city center

I spotted some kind of unidentified flying craft at approx 3:30am. 

It had a single bright light in the middle with a strobe pulsating 
orange-ish.

I'm in Little Stoke. Bristol, UK and it was a couple of miles away towards city 
center.      

Thought at first it was the police helicopter, until it started to 
move in a figure of eight, zigzagging and up and down movements, then 
would return to stationary and hovering for a few moments then started 
moving about again. It just disappeared at about 4am.     

Digital footage couldn't be taken as my phone camera/video is completely 
useless and doesn't have zoom etc..
