Strange Object in Sky - South Bay Scarborough, North Yorks, UK
Captured by BEAMS Assistant Investigator, Stephen Gamble.
I went to my usual place to take photos up and down South Bay and noticed an object in the sky. It's not very close. Don't think it's a bird. Not a plane or a flying squid.
One of the observations I can make about photographing unidentified flying objects is that there is often an ambiguity as to where they are in space in relation to the distance, middleground, foreground. This saucer-shaped object that I captured could be above the distant cliffs the other side of Cayton bay (where the caravans are), or it could be near to the shore of South Bay, or somewhere above the sands of South Bay.
One never really knows what size they are, though at times the presence of seagulls would appear to give them scale. Again, this can be spatially misleading.
