'Dancing Lights' Over Holt, Wiltshire, UK - 25/02/2016
Witness statement: "I guess the question is, can Chinese lanterns do formation flying?... cos' these lights certainly were. We were in the car and it was difficult to get a shot.
They actually seemed to be dancing in the air in one spot, couldn’t watch them continuously as we were driving and it got really tricky.
This was last night at 7pm

As
we replied to the witness... these lights
seem too bright to be the tea candles of sky lanterns; and
there is something about the neat grouping of the objects that
also causes us to believe that this is not the case.
Military flares perhaps? When we suggested this possibility, the witness said: 'I didn’t notice any smoke... and I really don’t think these are lanterns either, because of the way individual ones joined and left.'
Of
course, there may NOT be a rational explanation
for these lights at all - as similar groups of mystery aerial objects
have been witnessed and photographed before in various parts
of the world, which could not be attributed to anything man-made.
