We noticed two small orange lights that looked like flares but were travelling 
at speed while keeping an equal distance from each other...

There was no sound... very weird ..and they didn't disappear from the sky 
just vanished from view. 

I have a photo where you can just make them out if you enlarge it.

 

Our conclusions:

As the reader can see from the above images, when enlarged these lightforms clearly have an angled, almost structured appearance to them; so in our opninion these are certainly NOT Chinese lanterns; one almost gets the impression that here we are seeing the corners of a large object - possibly a (cloaked?) triangle.

Update: Here is another report sent in by one of our readers for a similar sighting last year, received by BEAMS 05/07/2016.

Hi, below is a report I have seen on your site regarding a sighting in 2016.

I was both gobsmacked and very happy to see this report, as I am 100% certain I witnessed the same thing a year previous. (Summer 2015).

I was standing in my garden (in South Essex) alone one quiet evening and heard a single strange sound from above (1 second long approx).

This sound was as though someone had very loudly ruffled a deck of playing cards. That drew my attention upwards and then I saw exactly what is described in the report below.

Two orange objects (the shapes are identical) travelling in tandem, flying at what I would describe as a medium altitude.

They flew silently straight over my head and I observed them clearly for around ten seconds before they disappeared. (Not through distance but simply vanished).

This report is identical in every way to what I experienced except for one detail. As the objects I witnessed were moving away, one of them drew in toward the other briefly (around two seconds) before returning to the same previous separation.

I really hope this is useful or interesting as it's been very reassuring for me!

I have been 100% certain of what I saw but seeing this report has blown any niggling doubts away.
