Welcome to B.E.A.M.S.

Founded in 1991, our society consists of a
team of active reporters and field investigators who
factually gather, study and disseminate evidence relating to Earth Mysteries, (e.g. Ley Lines, Terrestrial Energies and Ancient Site Anomalies), Strange Aerial Happenings, (e.g. Unidentified Flying Objects or UFOs), and The Paranormal, (e.g. Spirit and Psychic Phenomena).

Today, (27/06/17) Hilary and myself decided to take a sneaky peek at the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) near Reading, Berks.

It is a nightmare site to try and get near to; no word of exaggeration, there are guards with dogs patrolling these grounds - and plenty of security cameras on high poles as well, but nevertheless, it is a very interesting place, particularly because of its UFO history... and well worth a drive by; but we did more than simply drive past... we got as close to the giant perimeter fences at the Burghfield site as humanly possible.

The place is truly massive and we would say that it almost certainly contains an underground section; in fact, there were major new building works and excavations going on at the facility while we were present, with mountain-size piles of earth and gravel clearly visible... and lorryfuls of spoil leaving the main entrance, one after the other.

Our intention was to do a little 'sky fishing', (taking random shots in the hope that something strange might be accidentally captured on camera), and see what we could 'catch'.

Everything was going fine to begin with: Using my Nikon P900, (16MP) set on 'burst' mode, with its 83x Optical Zoom lens fully extended, pointing variously at the sky above the facility and the site itself - I quickly reeled off about 40 shots; snag is, I think we may have been 'captured' ourselves... by one of their CCTV cams, as we spotted a guard who was now rapidly heading towards us!

Well, even though we were not 'technically' doing anything wrong, we decided to quickly exit from the scene and into our getaway vehicle... (the crazy things we do in the name of Ufology eh?).

Unfortunately, apart from securing some nice stock images of the facility, we didn't snap any UFOs on our first field investigation near this site, (well, not in the conventional sense), only a strange aerial 'critter' that was not visible at the time; yet this remains unidentified, despite us consulting someone who is well versed on birds and insects.

Mystery creature/object

On first looking at the image, we thought that the form might simply be a dragon fly or a similar bug on the wing; but then it dawned on us ...how could this 'thing' have been right up there, high in the clouds like that? as remember, I was shooting using a fully extended 83X zoom; and it certainly isn't something close to the lens either, or the result would be totally out of focus.

This means that the 'invisible' object, (or 'objects' plural, as it turned out - click on image to see), could in fact be much larger than first imagined!

Anyway, the unknown is very odd-looking indeed, and appears to have appendages on its rear, (a mutation perhaps?), so we thought it worthy of inclusion here.

Our expert friend said it reminds me of creatures that spread a flap of skin between limbs to glide. I wouldn't say 'insect', but is it a creature?  End

So, it looks like a follow-up visit to the AWE is definitely on the cards for us in the not too distant future.
