I was picking my daughter up from work, and when driving past Sutton
Heath with Rock Barracks on the left, I saw a flash line of bright white light
above the trees ahead and to the right: I asked what that was and my
daughter thought maybe streak lightning, even though not the weather for
it...being mild and dry. I was doubtful as it didn't look like that to me.
The same thing happened another 3 minutes later and then again
3 minutes after that, from different directions; we followed to investigate
what it was and drove past Suffolk Punch Trust, Hollesley towards Shingle
street.
Passing some houses before the open prison, I saw a ball of stationary
white light above a building on the right, and that ball just suddenly
disappeared.
As we got closer, another light sphere appeared briefly above the roof of
a house to the left, and then I saw it in the garden just above a low bush,
and that light vanished as well.
I continued to drive straight ahead until I got to the crossroads, and
headed straight towards Bawdsey; but as we had seen nothing for
a while, I turned around and went back the way we came, taking no
turnings and didn't come back to the crossroads...
We were driving on a single track road, with trees either side of us; there
was only room for one car...when I saw yet another ball of light 2 minutes
after turning back the way we came - and then it disappeared; and as we
looked about to see where it was, we found that were outside Hollesley
village shop.
It takes at least 10 minutes to get to Hollesley village shop from the road
leading to Bawdsey where we turned in the road (if we were driving fast,
but we were crawling) and would have had to turn left at the crossroads
and drive through Alderton... but we never reached the crossroads, didn't
drive through Alderton or take any turnings. There would have been
houses (the village), shop and a pub to drive past, but we didn't come
past any.
It was as though we'd just been teleported from one place to another!
I decided to go back towards Shingle Street, going past Suffolk Punch
Trust again and we saw the line of light again as we got closer;
my daughter even got out the car to look over the sea and saw the light
above the boats in the distance, but too high to come from them.
The light was like a vibrating wave in the air and vanished.
Saw it twice more, this time above sea to the left where no planes or
boats were.
