A34 Towards
Newbury, Berks, UK: March 16th, 1994

Message: My wife and I had been visiting our daughter and son in law in
Gosport, Hampshire.
He was serving in the navy at that time. We decided to drive home in the evening to miss heavy traffic.
It
was 9pm when we started for north Wales.
It was quite dark by then and I was driving along the A34 towards Newbury when my wife suddenly asked me: "What's that?"
I noticed she was pointing at the sky ahead of us. I glanced up to see a huge vehicle in the sky, approximately the size of a football pitch. I glanced down at the road ahead, there was no other traffic around either going north or south.
Glancing upwards again I saw that the vehicle in the sky had four sort of legs which were lit up in each of it's four corners.
We were both dumbstruck when it suddenly ascended at great speed and vanished.
The journey which we had done many times usually takes about 4 hours, we arrived home at 10.30pm. My wife rang our daughter to say we had arrived home safely, but she couldn't believe we were at home a 260 mile journey in just 90 minutes. We sat looking at each other not saying a word.
The following morning I went out to the car to shop in the supermarket. The tyres were burnt, not just flat but burnt!
I went to my local garage and they came out to tow it in. I couldn't explain what had happened no matter how many questions they asked.
My wife still won't talk about that night, and I cant explain for the missing few hours or how we finished our journey.
We are now retired, but at that time we were both nurses and sceptical of all things of this kind. Knowing that people are ridiculed for relating issues like this we have always been tight-lipped, but I saw your article in a Chat special magazine.
The only thing I can add to what I've told you is that since that night we have both suffered with ill health and had to retire early from our careers.
