Thamesmead London: Late Seventies/Early
Eighties - UFO/Missing Time Incident
Witness statement:
Hi,
I felt you may be interested in my experience which occurred roughly late seventies/early eighties, and was wondering if you have heard of anything similar to my own personal experience
I lived in Thamesmead, South East London at that particular time; the house was a four bed roomed town house, with large windows and a flat roof.
My bedroom and living room were on the first floor and I was overlooking a row of similar flat roofed houses to the left of my view, from my bedroom window
I lived there with my husband and 3 sons; I would have been in my early thirties at the time.
This one particular night something disturbed me; it must have been about 1am in the morning; I got out of bed and went to the window; looking out to the left hand side of the houses there appeared to be, (what I initially thought was) a helicopter with this searchlight, hovering above the houses; it was then I realized that it was totally silent, no noise whatsoever!
It crossed my mind it could only be a UFO; this object then went right over the top of my house and I lost sight of it, so I ran from my bedroom into the front room to see if I could catch sight of it again, this time through the front room window.
I looked now out of my window to my left; at this point I was really excited as I knew it was not a helicopter.
I caught sight of it now, slowly moving silently nearer to my window; a brilliant light was being shone along the houses; my feelings of excitement and curiosity then turned to complete and utter fear!
I know knew that they were searching for someone; plus I also instinctively knew they mustn't see me, so I turned within seconds, to run away from my window: I didn't have time to run into my bedroom and wake my husband, there was no time.
I tried to hide, as by now a brilliant light had filled the whole room.
I instinctively hid behind my chair!
The light was so brilliant you couldn't open your eyes: I was so, so afraid I couldn't shout, speak or cry; I just once more instinctively curled up in a foetus position, I was totally petrified.
Then blank... my next memory was that I was in my bed; it was now the morning, it was light.
FFS, what happened? how did I get in bed? What happened between 1am & the morning?
My first thought was, it must have been a dream? But I was so afraid I would have woken? I was now totally confused.. I knew it wasn't a dream; yet, how could I have lost hours? It was about 1am in the morning, not that late really, so I would have thought there would have been people not yet asleep.
It must have been about 48 hours after the incident, that I was reading either the daily newspaper, or a local one (not sure which) when I noticed there was just a little column on the right hand side that caught my eye.
It said there had been several sightings reported of a UFO hovering over houses in the Abbey wood area, (which covers Thamesmead ) on the night I had my own sighting!
Thank god, because now I have confirmation... others saw the UFO too.
But why now - after all this time? Well, back then no one would have believed you, and who would you report it to? Although some people did, thank god
I would love to know what happened to me during that missing time.
Any suggestions please to beamsinvestigations@sky.com
