Witness statement: Me and my friend pulled up into a local car park for a cigarette and had a chat about our day; we had been sat there for about 40 minutes when half way though our conversation my friend butted in and said 'oh look at that aeroplane, god that's low' - so I turned to see and stated I thought it was going to crash as it was extremely low.
As I said, I thought it was going to crash and my
friend replied 'well, should we follow it? So, then we did just that
and tried to follow the lights of what we thought might be an aircraft in
trouble; but we couldn't see it any more which we found strange because in
Hornby it's very open with lots of fields that stretch out for miles, therefore
we knew we would be able to easily track this object, but in this case we had
lost it.
Thinking it had just disappeared, we carried on towards Gressingham, a small village on the outskirts of Hornby, when all of a sudden I saw a red light in the sky; as soon as I saw it out of the corner of my eye I knew that it wasn't a plane after all.
Its motions were odd, flying most erratically and far too low, going just above the trees in the distance and then dropping.
We then pulled up facing towards the red light that was in the distance and we put on the full beams on the car; this didn't help so we quickly turned them off again, with the object continuing to move but towards a hill in the distance; by this point I was panicking as I thought I was going to witness a plane crash. We then reversed back onto the main road travelling alongside the object, when all of a sudden the red light got closer and was much bigger, I then shouted stop! as I wanted to see what it really was and if we were following just an aeroplane for no reason.
The object then came right in front of us in the sky; it only took it about 7 seconds to get so close as it was travelling at such a fast speed; I was then certain it was definitely NOT an aeroplane, helicopter, RAF plane or some sort of drone; it's speed was so fast I was lost for words.
As I was the passenger I was looking outside of my window as the object slowed right down, almost as if whoever was flying this thing had noticed we were watching and following it; my friend then started to drive along again, only this time the unidentified got much closer to us and as it carried on moving I could see that the back of the object had a sort of S-shaped back that was an luminous green, the red dots were still there, both on either side but they were changing position; it was as if the object was spiralling in the sky; this time I put the window down to listen what kind of noise it was making but there was no sound coming from it, I then tried to video this but my phone couldn't pick up the object in the sky.
The bright green S-shape had me lost for words and I couldn't really speak much as I was confused as to what I was seeing; I then managed to ask my friend what he thought about it, but it was obvious that he was as puzzled as I was.
We were travelling parallel with the object for around 10 seconds, maybe less, when all of a sudden the lights of this object just disappeared before our eyes.
We then proceeded to follow where we thought the UFO may have gone, but it had completely vanished. We travelled for another mile or so then turned around; we also retraced our steps to maybe see if it would come back or if anyone else had stopped in their car to watch the object as we had done, but nothing.
We also looked on social media sites that are local to our area hoping that maybe someone may have seen what we saw, but couldn't find any such reports.
