18th October 2016:
UFO 'Thing' Immersed in Cloud Over Clumber Park, Nottingham, UK
Witness statement:
On the evening of Tuesday 18th October 2016, whilst traveling home from my late shift at work, I saw something in the night sky which struck me as being odd.
The time would have been
approx 8pm, I had just come off the A1, southbound to get onto the A614
(southbound), I was in the vicinity of Clumber Park (which is just off
from the A614, North Nottinghamshire). I was driving my car (no
passengers); it was clear
visibility, no fog, no rain, but obviously dark. The A614, certainly
in that area, runs through a long stretch of rural land, so no street
lights in that area (or few and far between). I saw what I supposed to
be an aeroplane, a passenger plane from the
general size of it, flying pretty low from my left hand side and
towards the route of the road. My initial thoughts were, this ain't
right, is it in difficulty is it going to crash land. There is no
airport in that area, the nearest are Robin Hood Airport
and East Midlands Airport, the first lying significantly to the north
and the latter, much further to the south.
I slowed down the speed that I was travelling at, so as to try and observe it and I was aware that there was one a car quite close to the rear of me and I did not want to cause a collision, otherwise I might have pulled over and parked up. At that time of night, traffic has reduced substantially and at that particular point there was only my car and the one at the rear of me, on the road.
The 'thing', as it passed
literally over the road, was of a large size, but had partially covered
itself in low lying cloud. It did not make any discernible noise and
apart from my car engine, there was no other noise which could have
masked it, I did NOT
have the car radio on. The structure was not easy to make out (due to
the cloud, which it flew into), but it did appear to have 4 pale gold
(or clear) lights and 2 others which might have been green. Definitely
NO red lights, NO flashing lights.
The other significant point was that it flew slowly; it was not hovering, but moving, in my opinion, far too slow to be a passenger plane.
As I say, it was difficult to make out the shape as it immersed itself in cloud, but it did NOT seem to have wings. It was way too big to be a helicopter. NO vapour rail either.
As I was driving along my view became further obscured by trees.
