Welcome to B.E.A.M.S.

Founded in 1991, our society consists of a
team of active reporters and field investigators who
factually gather, study and disseminate evidence relating to Earth Mysteries, (e.g. Ley Lines, Terrestrial Energies and Ancient Site Anomalies), Strange Aerial Happenings, (e.g. Unidentified Flying Objects or UFOs), and The Paranormal, (e.g. Spirit and Psychic Phenomena).

02 09 2016 -
Daylight Dorito-Shaped UFO Captured Over Putnoe, Bedford, Beds, UK

Please read this caveat/preamble very carefully before moving on to the witness' statement, which is near bottom of page.

Death of a B.E.A.M.S. Investigator

Many readers will be aware that recently one of our best investigators Gordon Dungavel and his wife were found dead in their home at Putnoe, Bedford, Beds, UK, the circumstances of which are currently being investigated.

Now obviously, when we received a curious photo today purportedly taken of a UFO that was seen flying over the VERY village where Gordon died, we were extremely suspicious that someone was simply pulling our leg; but there is something of a twist to this story, please read on.

Database

Simply enter 'Bedford' into our search engine and see just how reports have come from that particular area - submitted by a variety of witnesses; especially of flying triangles; this link should give you an idea of why we are so interested in Bedford/Bedfordshire regarding UFOs.

EXIF data

We can assure the reader that every photograph that is sent through to BEAMS is thoroughly examined, including an in-depth study of its EXIF data: That includes the shutter speed, aperture setting, ISO setting, if the flash was used, the focal length and lots lots more. This is stored with the photo in what is called EXIF data inside the jpeg file.

We do not always included these details on every report page for reasons of time, but behind the scenes this type of examination is a routine task for us.

So, we ran the original of this new 'Putnoe UFO' through a detailed JPEG image decoder and analysis tool... and although there was a degree of uncertainty, it showed that there is a 50/50 possibility that the image is unedited/unprocessed.

Whereas we would have expected it to show as
"ASSESSMENT: Class 1 - Image is processed/edited" if it was Photoshopped... but it didn't.

Bit of a Gamble

Yes, the object may look like something out of War of The Worlds, but what else are we supposed to do but to print this story? - sit on our hands? We say publish and be damned - let the reader decide.

Sometimes in this subject when clear evidence is lacking or dubious, we have to take a gamble and go by hunches - even if we are left wiping egg of our faces when things go wrong.

This has happened before and will happen again to every UFO investigator worth their salt, (unless they are the type that forever sit on the wall for fear of ridicule, rolling their eyes at everything) - it can't be helped... and for the sake of this subject we are prepared to take the flak.

So, to the $64,000 question - is this an actual UFO?' Well, we can't identify it - but perhaps someone else can... answers please to beamsinvestigations@sky.com

There are no propellers visible, and of course no fuselage;
but might this be a UAV? Yet, has anyone seen anything that looks like this before? We haven't, and we live in Farnborough, Hants - the Home of British Aviation!

The closest that we can come up with is the piloted Verhees Delta craft - but that is hardly 'silent', rather, it makes a right old racket as its powerplant is 1 × Subaru EA71 four cylinder, air-cooled, four stroke automotive conversion, 37 kW (50 hp) and could hardly be mistaken for a UFO as it passed overhead - click link to study video.  End

This case is all the more remarkable, because of another sighting made of a very similar object, which was seen over Putnoe back in 02 September 2011 by two witnesses; so that's the same location, same day and month again, but five years ago!

Witness statement:

"Hi, we saw this flying over Putnoe in Bedford today at 12.59 today. When first seen to the right it looked delta shape, but after I dashed in and got my camera the object was now crossing the sky and we were seeing it’s port side slightly behind and underneath.

It was flying in front of a light aircraft but seemed to be pulling away. I could only hear the sound of one engine and that was from the following plane.

I attach the original file and I confirm that this is a genuine picture taken by me today
at 12.59. No modification has been carried out other than copying it to my PC desktop and then to email.

I only got one picture as I had to dash into the house and get my camera; one second later and it would have been out of sight behind the house!

A possible small letdown to all this was a TV news item which talked of a light aircraft rally at Sywell, on which they showed a brief flash of a number of light aircraft parked; one of them looked like a delta shape!

Regards John" End

Please make of this case what you will... it has certainly left us scratching our heads here!
