Email just received: UFO Seen Tonight 23/10/2015 Over Vale View,
Nuneaton. Huge Circular Spinning Object With 4 Red Lights. (Poor camera
phone image at top; below is a brightened, enlarged detail).
Message: 'Hello, I'm wondering where, (if not here), I can officially report a UFO.
My daughter and her friend came back tonight very animated saying that they had seen a UFO in Nuneaton over an area called Vale View; it would have been between 8.00pm and 8.30pm, and there was a large crowd of 80 or so teenagers attending a party who would have also seen it.
They said that the mysterious object was huge, looking like a circle inside a larger circle with 4 red 'glowing' portions, moving around and rotating.
It went up into clouds and vanished, then came down again spinning.
I asked if it was solid or could it be lights or lazers? they said no - the unidentified looked like it was made of cloud-like material.
My daughter is almost 15 years old and very straight talking and she gets embarrassed by anything abnormal, so she was clearly uncomfortable telling me and her father about this; she is at an awkward stage, which is why it seems so credible to me.
She said that she has asked on her Facebook for all her friends to comment if they saw it and has even had a photo sent to her by one of them: She tried to record it herself but her phone has gone very dark so you can't see anything.
If you would like to speak to me or have any advice of what to do with this report my number is *********** ' end statement.
I have since conducted a telephone interview with this lady and learned the following:
Some witnesses actually described the observed object as a 'ship'.
Her brother had said on Facebook that the same UFO had also been observed by witnesses at nearby Camp Hill.
The mother of the main witness phoned a Police station later that evening to pass this information on to them, and enquired as to whether any similar reports had come though, but was told that 'there hadn't, although if she wanted to, she could phone the CAA, (the Civil Avaition Authority), on Monday so that they could log the case'.
The reason why the mother took this so seriously is because years ago, her own mother, (who is a highly credible and trustworthy person), experienced two excellent UFO sightings herself: One in 1979 and another in 1988... when both unidentified objects were described as definite large silver, metal, "flying saucers".
Her first sighting, (March 28, 1979), was in Attleborough, which was made at quite a distance, looking out from Arley... where she saw a metallic saucer hovering over a farm field; the witness didn't see the unidentified take off, so there is a possibility that it may have simply vanished.
Then in 1988, her mother saw a very similar object from a
range of no more than 100 yards away:
The witness and one other person observed a silver, metal flying
saucer, looking "like two saucers stuck together" with a strip running
around its center, containing what seemed like windows or maybe lights;
a friend who was with the witness at the time rushed into their
house to get a camera, but when they returned to take a picture the
object had gone.
No unusual sounds were reported as being heard in ether instance.
...to be continued.
While searching online, I came across this interesting vintage sighting report for Nuneaton.
27 September 1979 - 22:20 - Nuneaton, Warwickshire, UK - Multiple witnesses reported a red oval-shaped object over the area that hovered before moving off - Police involved. Witness (A) stated: “While sitting in my Friend’s home around 10.20 p.m., I suddenly saw over Elmfield Road, a red oval object in the sky. We watched it as it stood in one position for around ten seconds. It then seemed to turn to orange then moved slowly away to our left towards the Stockingford area, before going out of view. The object‘s height of about 1000 feet, remained the same throughout the sighting. I reported the sighting to the Police who said that one of their officers - (PC Kennedy) - had also seen the object and had recorded in the station log.”
