"Hi, we were travelling home at approx 20.30 hrs, 05/01/16 on the B5305 heading towards Penrith, Cumbria. It was dark but weather was dry. I had my children in the car when above us we spotted a very large disc shaped object hovering above us with red, blue, green and yellow lights underneath.
It was just above tree height and we all were totally baffled what it was as it was very bright and colourful but did not move very fast and appeared to be hovering.
As we kept on driving we looked behind us but the object was nowhere to be seen?
I was going to stop and have a look but the children were uneasy with this, but I have never seen anything like this before.

I would report in case anyone else saw this, as a few other cars were
travelling in opposite way to us."
