At around 2pm on Friday September 1, 2017, I looked up North East, above our garden tree line to see a perfectly round disc completely motionless hanging in the sky making no sound.
It appeared vertical as if flipped over.
It was like looking up at a lamp shade or a viking shield with the round dome in the center and appeared to have halo of light, like an eclipse of the sun.
Couldn't say how far away, maybe a few miles or less, but it was close enough so you could see color and detail. Brown, black, silver/metallic and orange/reds.
I observed the object for about 20-30 secs reached for my phone to film it and it had disappeared. I keep filming on the off chance it might reappear for a few minutes and I believe I caught the same object move away from the area at high speed.
It felt brief, but it was very quiet and surreal.

On a personal note, the experience has shaken me to the core and frankly terrified me. During the sighting I was unsettled but very calm, I knew exactly what I was witnessing, shock I guess, but in the weeks that have passed I have had nightmares!
I now have a profound empathy for those who have been taken.
