Hello, 

My name's *****, I'm from South Wales.
Myself and my partner Dave was driving past Stonehenge at 10.45 pm 
on the 1st of September; it was the first time we had ever seen Stonehenge; 
we knew it would be on the road so I was keeping a eye out for it.

As we saw the stones from the road, we also saw that there was a big, 3 to 
4 feet purple bright ball of light inside of the circle of stones; near one of 
the walls of the stones, the ball of purple light slowly moved up from near 
the ground to near the top of the stone.

The ball lit up the entire circle, but not outside of the circle.
 
There was also a slow flash, a misty light of blue and white from the opposite 
side of the stones.

We both saw it, myself longer than my partner as he was driving. 

I have never seen anything like it; It was so bright and a lavender purple... 
a perfect sphere!

We drove around the roundabout and back down and it was in darkness 
again. That was a few minutes later. We drove a total of 4 times up and 
down but saw no lights again.

As we was driving away we also saw 2 flashes of horizontal red lightening.

I wanted to be sceptical and rang the Stonehenge people to see if someone 
was doing photography or something after closing hours.

There was no one booked in I was told; plus I saw the whole of the circle 
because of the light from the sphere and there was no one there.

I would like to know if anyone has reported a similar sighting please?
