BEAMS Comments: In our opinion these marks would have been extremely difficult to create by someone, say for example, riding around and around on a motorbike or something like that. To our eyes, these concentric circles, so large and precisely made, appear to have been cored into the grass from above.

Just by the visual appearance of these markings alone, we can completely rule out one potential culprit... the ring-causing fungus Marasmius oreades; this can live in the roots of turf and alter the appearance of grass, producing single rings, (known as 'Fairy Rings') at certain times of the year, mainly in late summer and autumn.
Update 20/03/18: The witness informed us that 'when they saw this marking the other day after it had snowed, the snow had covered it, but it wasn't so thick on the circle and you could still see the marking underneath - it was quite prominent.
The marking has all but gone now.
Whatever it was - it was certainly an odd one!'
Of course, there may be some logical, scientific or mundane explanation that is eventually cited for such phenomena, but at the moment, we just can't think of one; can anybody reading this assist us in our quest for answers?

Potentially important footnote to this case: Over the years BEAMS has received a few UFO reports from around this area, Fleet etc, but not specifically Crondall: However, a quick check with a gov.uk Freedom of Information docs index PDF, revealed that on March 06, 1997 at 18:30 hrs, "a pink/red, round, domed object" was observed above Crondall." "A bit came off the side and fell down. The object was at an angle. It was round with a dome on top. It had lights all around and internal lights. It was stationary and then hovered." When it took off it flew in a "North Westerly direction."
