I have E-mailed you with description of what I witnessed: I have not been able to identify what I saw and it intrigues me. I first noticed it when I saw this flying against the wind and realised what I was watching could not be a balloon or blimp.
It was a metallic, florescent white with no markings or appendages and a smooth egg or oval shape which was traveling from North East (from the head of the Avon River) towards the East and Bristol.
The wind was going opposite direction and there were 2 layers of medium, clumpy cloud, with blue sky between; the UFO was flying through top layers at times and I could still see it very well even then.
I saw it for between 30-40 seconds and it suddenly disappeared in clearer sky. It was like it blinked off.
I am adding extra stuff here just in case it is useful for the description of the UFO: This object was about size of small finger nail visually, if you hold your hand and arm straight in front of you for comparison, the closest thing which could describe its visual size;.
Altitude-wise, it was about the same height as a long-distance passenger aircraft.
There was no vapour trail from it or sound and this thing flew about the same speed as a satellite in low orbit. I tried to check what was flying about at the time and I understand the new big air ship was flying in Oxford a few days before, so I looked at pictures of it in flight and what I saw was nothing like it.
I saw the object from my back door which I had opened to go to the dustbin to put rubbish out, when I just happened to look up.
