A True Account:
As a very young boy (around 3-4 years old) one night, while looking out from the bedroom window of my home in Lancelot Road, Grove Park, Downham Way, near Bromley, Kent, I saw a small UFO with coloured round lights lit through little port holes, which floated right over our house. It came to a stop in mid-air a little further down the road.
Just then, a couple that had been out for the night came walking round from the corner of an alleyway just a little way along, but as soon as they spotted this unexpected UFO hanging right there in mid-air (this was quite late at night) right in front of them, the woman let out a few loud screams and they both broke into panic mode, ran to the telephone box which was situated just on the corner of a green about 50 feet from our house, and she started freaking out in a shrill voice relaying to her mother what they were witnessing.
The young man didn’t know what to think, or do, as he was panicking racing all over the road. They didn’t spot me watching the whole thing from my bedroom window though, I found it all very fascinating and intriguing especially at that young age.
Eventually, the UFO slightly tilted down and very slowly moved away.
Never heard any more about it – naturally, couldn’t say anything because I would have gotten into a lot of trouble looking out of the window at that time of night; of course - this was back in 1950’s so the whole event just melted away into obscurity, and whom would believe me anyway – even now?
That was my very first sighting of a UFO.
Of course, it would be very interesting to see if any accounts of it are recalled by anyone such as family/friends, who may have heard about it via the couple whom were there on that night? But it was a long time ago!
