I was driving south down Westleigh Lane, Westleigh Leigh Lancs' when I 
had to pull over to let two on-coming cars overtake a van which was 
parked on the right hand side of the road. I was totally shocked and 
staggered at what I witnessed as I waited; I saw several long prong like 
spikes in a fan shape that appeared and descended from the low clouds 
directly in front and above; this was at just a few hundred feet above the 
ground; they were followed by a 20-25 foot high long thin slim diamond 
shaped body/object which was about 10ft in diameter its widest point.

The object was very slowly spinning anti-clockwise, and it descended until
I could see its full length; the very top had come into view from the clouds 
and was now showing several long straight vertical aerial-like spikes/
projections of varying lengths standing straight upwards on its very top/peak. 

The object moved slowly to the East above Westleigh High School, slowly 
descending and still spinning all the time, and after a few seconds of
standing still it started to return West raising up very slowly.

I had to drive and move away after about 10 seconds of sat watching it, I 
then (after about another 15 meters of driving down the road) had to pull 
over again to let three oncoming cars through: I could still see the object 
and watched it for another 10 seconds; it was now moving steadily west and 
slowly rising back up into the clouds above a street called Priory Avenue. 

It then totally disappeared from view having seemingly turned invisible before 
it got fully back into the clouds. 

The object was made up in a diamond shape of what seemed to be fluid,
like moving/shimmering balls and squares/rectangles of all sizes. 

The colour was a black/to dark brown with a brassy golden shimmering 
effect. 

The weather was dry at the time but it had been raining in the morning, 
there was no wind at all. 

I'm sure other car drivers behind me must have seen it and 
several people were walking down the pavements some with dogs. 

It was the weirdest thing I've ever seen and i did a quick drawing of it whilst 
my memory was still fresh when i got home. 

Sorry I never reported it before now, I was always hoping someone else
had seen or reported it.
