A different type of electroculure?

I conducted an earth energy experiment two years ago using a row of alternating steel and copper poles that were hammered deeply into the ground and oriented to the north (the copper was protected from the steel by plastic sheaths).
Having dowsed the region, this was found to be located directly on a ley line.
A 1-volt voltage boost from the surrounding ground was visible when I first tested the pole array with a voltmeter, but it was regretfully not recorded.
I recently revisited this experiment (23/08/2023) and placed a compass near one of the steel rods; the compass revolved, and the event was captured on camera.
There were no wires or other sources of electricity present because this was a rural area.
One intriguing query arises: Might our distant ancestors have found practical applications for earth currents, possibly in the realm of agricultural practices? This line of investigation leads us to ponder whether these early human civilizations could have tapped into the Earth's electrical properties to enhance their crop cultivation techniques or fulfill other needs.
